Filial Piety Public Art Exhibition Launched
The launch party for the Filial Piety Public Art Exhibition was held at Lingnan Tiandi’s Yuan Ji Huang Gong Shrine on March 2. The exhibition featured the work of renowned contemporary artist Gu Wenda. March 2, the second day of the second month of the Chinese lunar calendar, is also known as the Long Tai Tou (Dragon’s Head Raising) Festival. In some regions of China, people have their hair cut or shaved to bring good luck in the coming new year. In the spirit of the festival, Lingnan Tiandi offered free hairdressing services at the launch party, with the hair collected utilized by the artist in his work. Fourteen mothers and daughters cut their hair at the launch party. The ‘hair-art’ will be on display on Mother’s Day.
