“Van Gogh Alive” Sensory Exhibition Subverts Traditional Approaches to Art Exhibitions

From April 28 to August 30, “Van Gogh Alive”, a multi-sensory traveling exhibition dedicated to the life and work of the eponymous Dutch artist, is presented in a 2,000 square meters “Art Castle” specially built on Shanghai Xintiandi’s Taiping Lake. The audio-visual feast features more than 3,000 Van Gogh paintings and promises an interactive art experience, transmitting visitors to Van Gogh's artistic world. “Van Gogh Alive” was a special exhibition that was held as part of the 2015 China Shanghai International Arts Festival. It employed the latest Sensory4™ sensory technology to ingeniously combine a multimedia art gallery and tailor-made exhibition hall, creating the world's most exciting Van Gogh art exhibition. The exhibition was jointly organized
by the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, Shanghai Huangpu Overseas Friendship Association, High Court Culture and Arts Co., Ltd, and Shanghai Xintiandi. During the official exhibition, the organizers also launched a series of cultural and arts events, such as an art fair, art appreciation lectures, and an outdoor oil painting market.
